Actor Park Seo-joon openly expressed his genuine feelings about love and his deep affection for his character.<\/p>\n

On the 15th in Gangnam, Seoul, Park Seo-joon participated in a roundtable interview for the JTBC weekend drama “Waiting for Gyeongdo,” which ended on January 11.<\/p>\n

“Waiting for Gyeongdo” is a romance drama featuring Lee Gyeong-do (played by Park Seo-joon) and Seo Ji-woo (played by Won Ji-an), who reunite in unexpected roles after breaking up.<\/p>\n

Park Seo-joon played Lee Gyeong-do, an endlessly kind and ordinary deputy head of the entertainment department at Dongwoon Ilbo, showcasing nuanced emotional depth.<\/p>\n

In this project, he portrayed a range of ages from his twenties as a college student to his thirties. Was it challenging to act as someone in their twenties?<\/p>\n

Park Seo-joon said, “The only burden was the appearance. I understood those times well since I’ve lived through them. I also had those aimless peers; when we met, we always stayed up all night. Thinking about those days reminded me of my own experiences at 20, living just like Gyeongdo.”<\/p>\n

He explained that while there was no significant pressure in expressing his college-age emotions, he was more concerned with his outward appearance.<\/p>\n

Regarding his looks, Park Seo-joon shared, “There was a difference in age with my co-star, so I pondered how to manage that. I paid extra attention to clothing and hairstyles depending on the job. I thought about how I looked at 20, trying to coordinate in the most ordinary way.”<\/p>\n

Additionally, he noted that to naturally depict the passage of time, he differentiated the way he spoke in his twenties and his present age in the performance.<\/p>\n

He said, “It’s a personal detail, but I wanted to change my speech patterns between my twenties and now. I realized that I had a younger way of speaking at 20. There were parts that I could portray differently.”<\/p>\n

Park Seo-joon’s actual college life in his twenties naturally became a topic.<\/p>\n

He commented, “It’s similar to Gyeongdo. Now I\u2019m more social, but I was extremely introverted at 20. University was the first exposure to society beyond local schools, meeting friends from everywhere, which was both new and exciting.”<\/p>\n

His character, Lee Gyeong-do, is a devoted man who remains devoted to one woman for 18 years. Park Seo-joon described the character as, “It’s primarily a love story, so there’s that devoted aspect. He’s gentle, considerate, and proud of his work.”<\/p>\n

When asked about similarities with his character, he jokingly said, “We look alike,” before reflecting.<\/p>\n

He elaborated, “I think being able to say something’s wrong is a similarity, and I believe I\u2019m emotional like Gyeongdo. Gyeongdo’s lines felt incredibly detailed to me. I think it’s possible because his lines are all delicate, capable of explaining ‘It’s like this because of this and that,’ instead of just ‘I’m just tired’ when talking about a certain topic. Gyeongdo still remembers certain moments, and I also tend not to miss even fleeting remarks.”<\/p>\n

Playing a devoted role, he was asked about his actual romantic style.<\/p>\n

Park Seo-joon shared, “I tend to do my best in relationships. I dislike having regrets in anything. I believe in giving my all, even in love, similar to how I approach acting by giving my absolute best.” He added, “Though Gyeongdo’s devotion spans 18 years, I believe I’ve had similar experiences myself.”<\/p>\n

He continued, “I don’t believe anyone hasn’t experienced it. Not having tried it seems somewhat unfortunate. Love is one of the blessings humans can feel, and I’m sure those who’ve experienced it can relate. It’s something everyone has,” emphasizing the universal power and value of love.<\/p>\n
