ADOR announced it will file a lawsuit today (the 29th) against NewJeans’ Danielle, seeking damages and penalties for breach of contract.
According to Xportsnews, an ADOR representative stated, “We plan to file a lawsuit for damages and breach penalties today.”
While the specific reasons could not be disclosed due to ongoing legal proceedings, ADOR clarified that Danielle’s actions violated fundamental clauses of her exclusive contract. These actions reportedly included entering into other contracts, engaging in independent entertainment activities, and damaging the reputation and credibility of the group, NewJeans.
The representative added that ADOR had requested corrective actions for these breaches, but as no resolution was reached within the specified timeframe, the agency moved to terminate her contract.
Earlier today, ADOR released an official statement regarding the status of NewJeans members. Hani has decided to remain with ADOR, Minji is currently in discussions, while Danielle was issued a contract termination notice.
ADOR stated, “Hani visited Korea with her family and engaged in extensive discussions with ADOR. During this process, past issues were re-examined, leading to a more objective understanding. Following these sincere conversations, Hani chose to respect the court’s decision and continue her activities with ADOR. Minji is also in discussions with ADOR, with ongoing talks aimed at broadening mutual understanding.”
Regarding Danielle, ADOR stated, “It was deemed difficult to continue with her as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist, so we notified the termination of her exclusive contract today.” The agency also added that legal action will be pursued against a member of Danielle’s family and former representative Min Heejin, who ADOR holds significantly responsible for precipitating the dispute and delaying NewJeans’ return to activities.
