As BIGBANG marks its 20th anniversary, members are hinting at individual comebacks rather than a full group reunion.
T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun) shared on his personal social media on January 1 that “A NEW ALBUM IS ON THE WAY,” along with a short teaser video.
The video showed T.O.P personally writing the album title, ‘TOP SPOT – Multi-Perspective [ANOTHER DIMENSION],’ which has heightened anticipation. This marks T.O.P’s first solo release since ‘DOOM DADA’ in 2013, after a roughly 13-year hiatus.
T.O.P also introduced a new account, ‘topspot_pictures,’ where he plans to carry out album promotions.

Having hinted at retirement from the entertainment industry, T.O.P returned with Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ season 2, released in December 2024. Now, his announcement of a comeback as a singer is drawing significant attention.
The current year also marks BIGBANG’s 20th debut anniversary. Previously, G-Dragon addressed the 20th anniversary at his Übermensch world tour encore concert at Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome last month. He stated, “We will mark the 20th anniversary with the BIGBANG brothers. We’ll start warming up from April,” indicating a comeback plan.
At the subsequent 2025 Melon Music Awards, he won the ‘Best Solo Male’ category and expressed his hope to “win a group award next year.”
BIGBANG’s inclusion in the lineup for the global music festival Coachella on April 12 and 19 further amplifies the 20th-anniversary excitement.

However, a full five-member reunion is unlikely. Given Seungri’s role as a key figure in the 2019 ‘Burning Sun Gate’ scandal and his subsequent exit from the entertainment industry, a full reunion is virtually ‘zero.’ While individual celebrations for the 20th anniversary appear probable, the diverging paths of T.O.P and the other three members—G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung—draw attention.
T.O.P has notably clarified his stance on rejoining BIGBANG. During an interview coinciding with the ‘Squid Game 2’ release, he revealed, “I haven’t been in contact with the members for a while, as I still feel very sorry. It’s been a long time since I decided to leave the team, and my mind hasn’t changed.”
G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung, excluding Seungri and T.O.P, continue to maintain a close bond. They attend each other’s concerts as guests and appear on Daesung’s web variety show ‘Jibdaesung,’ continuing to foster their friendship.
