K-pop garnered attention at the Golden Globe Awards, one of the four major film awards in the United States.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards took place on January 11 (local time) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
During the ceremony, Jennifer Lopez, a presenter for the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy category, walked onto the stage as BLACKPINK Jennie’s “Like Jennie” played. This was a playful pun on their shared name, Jennie.
Additionally, host Nikki Glaser introduced director nominee Judd Apatow, with BLACKPINK Rosé and Bruno Mars’ collaboration “APT.” (Apartment) playing. This choice capitalized on the similar pronunciation to Apatow’s name.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa, on the other hand, co-presented the Best Actor in a TV Drama award alongside Indian actress Priyanka Chopra. SEVENTEEN’s Joshua also graced the Golden Globes red carpet, sparking anticipation for future international activities.
Meanwhile, the Netflix original film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ won both the Animation Award and the Song Award (‘Golden’), securing two honors.
