BLACKPINK member Jennie is garnering significant attention not only in her primary role as a singer but also for her surprising charm displayed on variety shows.
Jennie is set to join MBC’s new variety show ‘Manitto Club,’ which premieres on February 1.
‘Manitto Club’ is an undercover gift variety program centered around the concept of sharing. Cast members are randomly assigned secret ‘Manitto’ (secret gift-giver) relationships and must deliver presents without revealing their identities until the end.
In a recently released second teaser, Jennie shared, “I like playing Manitto games where I can give gifts without being caught until the moment of giving,” adding that she has enjoyed these games with her BLACKPINK members.
She also expressed her confidence, stating, “I’m really confident. I’ll do it in a unique way,” and showed her excitement with the remark, “My Manitto will be so happy,” piquing viewers’ curiosity.
Jennie also appeared as a special guest in the final episode of TVING’s original ‘Transit Love 4,’ released on the 21st.
Jennie, who revealed her dedication as a fan by stating, “I’ve closely followed ‘Transit Love 4,'” added special meaning to the finale by offering empathy and support as she watched the residents make their final choices.
Previously, Jennie has showcased her hidden variety skills through guest appearances on various shows such as SBS’s 2018 ‘Village Survival, the Eight,’ tvN’s 2024 ‘Apartment 404,’ ‘Running Man,’ ‘Knowing Bros,’ and web variety ‘Pingkego.’ Despite her infrequent appearances, each garnered attention comparable to that of seasoned entertainers.
In 2024, she broadened her activities, hinting at solo endeavors with the establishment of her own label. She also made her first appearance on KBS through ‘The Seasons – Hyori’s Red Carpet.’
While continuing her variety activities amidst busy domestic and international schedules, Jennie has already reached the peak of her career multiple times as an artist.
At the end of last year, Jennie secured three awards at the ‘MMA2025,’ including ‘Record of the Year’ for her first solo full-length album ‘Ruby.’ At the ’40th Golden Disc Awards,’ she not only performed the ending stage but also claimed three trophies, including the ‘Artist of the Year’ award.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, the group Jennie is a part of, will release their third mini-album ‘Deadline,’ their first full group album in three years and five months, on February 27 at 2 PM KST.
