A congratulatory advertisement for BTS member Jin’s 10th debut anniversary was featured on the front page of Kookbang Ilbo, a daily newspaper specializing in national defense.
On the 13th, an advertisement celebrating BTS member Jin’s 10th debut anniversary was published on the front page of Kookbang Ilbo, a security-focused daily newspaper published by the Defense Media Agency under the Ministry of National Defense.
The advertisement featured a photo of Jin wearing a purple outfit representing BTS’s fandom, ARMY, along with the phrase “Happy 10th Anniversary JIN” congratulating his 10th anniversary.
The advertisement also included the phrases “June is the Month of Love for the Country and Patriotism, 70th Armistice of the Korean War” and “We appreciate the dedication and hard work of the proud Korean military personnel. We support you, soldiers,” without compromising the purpose of the security-focused daily newspaper.
This is the first time an entertainment advertisement has been published in Kookbang Ilbo. The advertisement was proposed by Jin’s fan club, “Kim Seokjin Promotion Team,” and the fans stated, “After many twists and turns, it passed the review of the Ministry of National Defense. The first-ever celebrity support advertisement in Kookbang Ilbo has been realized,” and expressed their hope that many people would like the advertisement as it was difficult to make it happen.
Kookbang Ilbo is not sold on the market but is distributed to 600,000 military personnel in South Korea.
Jin enlisted in the military on December 13th last year and completed five weeks of basic military training at the 5th Infantry Division Training Center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. He is currently serving as an instructor in the same division. His scheduled discharge date is June 12th, 2024.
Meanwhile, BTS celebrated their 10th debut anniversary today (13th). BTS members shared their thoughts through fan community platform Weverse or personal channels, with RM saying, “Let’s live well together for the next ten years,” and Jimin expressing, “The feeling of approaching ten years is different. I want to maintain this relationship and work hard.”
BTS released a digital single, “Take Two,” on the 9th to commemorate their 10th debut anniversary and will hold various events. Especially on the 17th, they will host the “BTS 10th Anniversary FESTA @ Yeouido” at Yeouido Hangang Park, featuring exhibitions and experiential programs.
