As actors Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a’s wedding approaches, all eyes are on whether their celebrity friends will attend.
On the 20th, the entertainment industry’s iconic long-term couple, Shin Min-a and Kim Woo-bin, will tie the knot in a private ceremony in Seoul after a decade of dating. The couple started dating in 2015 after working together on a commercial.
Among the flood of congratulations, Shin Min-a’s longtime staff unexpectedly revealed the wedding invitation, disclosing that the ceremony will take place at 7 p.m.
Do Kyung-soo will not attend the wedding as EXO will be performing at the 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA) starting at 5 p.m. the same day at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Kim Woo-bin and Do Kyung-soo, known as close friends in the industry, appeared alongside Lee Kwang-soo and Ki-bang Kim in the tvN variety show “Kong Kong Pat Pat” in 2023, winning audiences with their comical and wholesome charm.
Later, Do Kyung-soo and Lee Kwang-soo continued their streak with “Kong Kong Bap Bap” earlier this year, and recently with Kim Woo-bin’s return in “Kong Kong Pang Pang,” a nine-episode series that recently concluded.
Anticipation was high for Do Kyung-soo, EXO’s main vocalist, to sing a congratulatory song, leading to disappointment.
In a Disney+ “Fragment City” interview, Do Kyung-soo said, “Work is obviously important. Honestly, EXO comes first,” and candidly admitted, “I feel bad, but I need to make it up to Woo-bin. He understands that there’s no other way,” revealing the failed plan to perform “Popcorn.”
However, news on the 18th that Lee Kwang-soo will host the wedding drew attention. According to Lee Kwang-soo’s agency, King Kong by Starship, he will serve as the emcee for Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a’s wedding.
The contrasting situations of the “Kongpangz” evoke both humor and sadness, with online users commenting, “Please livestream the wedding,” and “Is the wedding really happening at Gocheok Dome?”
