Amidst the remarkable success of BTS member Jungkook’s solo album release, anticipation for V’s album is soaring even higher.
According to the latest charts released by Billboard, a prominent music media outlet in the United States, on August 15th, Jungkook’s track “Seven (feat. Latto)” secured the top spot on both the ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding US)’ charts.
With this achievement, Jungkook becomes the first Korean solo artist to maintain the top position for four consecutive weeks on the ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding US)’ charts, which rank artists based on streaming and sales across more than 200 countries/regions worldwide. Additionally, “Seven” becomes the first song to achieve over 100 million streams for four consecutive weeks on the ‘Global (excluding US)’ chart since its establishment in September 2020.
Moreover, “Seven” also climbed two steps on the Billboard main song chart, the ‘Hot 100,’ ranking at 28th place, compared to the previous week. Since its release on July 14th, “Seven” has shown steady popularity, consistently maintaining its position on the chart for four consecutive weeks.
Jimin’s solo album “FACE” is also enjoying prolonged success. The album’s title track, “Like Crazy,” rose on the charts, reaching 41st place on the ‘Global (excluding US)’ chart and 64th place on the ‘Global 200’ chart, maintaining its position for 20 consecutive weeks. “FACE” also secured the 11th spot on the ‘World Albums’ chart for 20 weeks, setting a record for the longest-charting solo artist album from Korea.
Next in line, V is also preparing for his solo debut. On August 16th at 0:00 (Korean time), V shared the concept photos for “Layover” on BTS’s official social media. Following the release of the first set of 23 concept photos on August 11th, V unveiled a staggering 35 photos this time, capturing the attention of fans worldwide.
Similar to the initial concept photos, these images depict V in ordinary everyday settings. V, showcasing the aesthetics of “barely there beauty,” continues to build anticipation by revealing additional concept photos for his first solo album, “Layover.”
Facing the camera in an unadorned manner, V’s photos capture his bright smile, playful expressions, and enigmatic gaze that seems lost in thought. The colored photos exude a summery vibe, while the black and white ones evoke nostalgia. In each photo, V showcases different poses, expressions, and gazes, enhancing the enjoyment for the viewers.
Ahead of his first solo album release, V has released a total of 60 concept photos across two rounds, igniting the excitement of global fans eagerly awaiting his new release.
