Hyun Bin has expressed his regret about the time spent away from his wife Son Ye-jin and their 3-year-old son due to filming “Harbin.”
On January 2, the YouTube channel ‘Blue Dragon Film Awards – Blue Dragon Series Awards’ released a video titled ‘[Blue Dragon Interview] Best Actor Hyun Bin, What’s the Most Frequent Conversation with Wife Son Ye-jin?’
During the interview, Hyun Bin appeared before the camera after winning Best Actor at the ’46th Blue Dragon Film Awards.’ He revealed that his son was born during the filming of “Harbin,” referring to him as a “Harbin baby.”
Hyun Bin explained, “My baby was born the day after the ‘Harbin’ gosa [ritual]. It felt like ‘Harbin’ and I started together. Due to the filming schedule in Mongolia and other commitments, I had to spend time away from my child,” expressing his regret over the demanding schedule.
Hyun Bin also stated, “I feel sorry for not being able to be with my wife and child. When my child grows up, I want to tell him, ‘When you were born, your father was filming this movie and portraying this character.'”
Hyun Bin, whose marriage created the first couple where both partners have won Best Actor/Actress awards at the ‘Blue Dragon Film Awards,’ added, “I want to proudly tell them, ‘Mom and Dad have done this.’ And the baby even said, ‘Congratulations, Dad.'”
Meanwhile, Hyun Bin married Son Ye-jin in 2022 and they have a son together.
