Hyun Bin recently shared his thoughts on becoming part of the first couple to jointly win lead actor awards at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
On the 21st, the YouTube channel ‘YoJeongJaeHyung’ released a video titled ‘It seems like we’ve fallen in love like soaking in rain… (sincerely)’.
In the video, Jeong Jae-hyung spoke with guest Hyun Bin. Jeong mentioned the notable achievement of Hyun Bin and his wife, Son Ye-jin, becoming the first couple in the 46-year history of the Blue Dragon Film Awards to win lead acting awards together.
Hyun Bin revealed, “I felt happier when my wife’s name was announced. Coincidentally, it was the first project for both of us after marriage.” He explained, “After getting married and our son Woo-jin was born, I immediately began filming ‘Harbin,’ but my wife had a much longer hiatus and a strong yearning to act.”
He continued, “When that yearning leads to such a significant award, it feels truly good. Watching her, I could see her desire to act; someone who had consistently built her filmography faced her longest break due to marriage and child-rearing.”
Hyun Bin expressed, “I felt even happier because it resulted in such a positive outcome,” while Jeong Jae-hyung commented, “Even if you get married, complete a project, and win an award, if no one acknowledges its significance, it might simply pass by. But having a husband who recognizes and celebrates it must have been satisfying for her.”
Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin married in 2022 and have one son.
