This time, it’s Goyang Stadium. Singer and actress IU is embarking on a ‘stadium conquest.’

IU is set to hold a solo concert this September at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, according to Xportsnews.

This concert will mark IU’s return to the stage approximately two years after her encore concert ‘THE WINNING,’ held in September 2024 at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Sangam-dong.

With her ‘Sangam’ performance, IU became the first female musician in 2022 to have performed at all major stadiums in Korea, including Jamsil Main Stadium and the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Her upcoming performance marks her debut at Goyang Stadium, adding further significance.

Goyang Stadium is renowned as a venue where top artists such as Big Bang’s G-Dragon, BLACKPINK, DAY6, J-Hope, Lim Young-woong, and Britpop band Oasis have performed. BTS, reuniting after three years and nine months, will also kick off their new world tour there on April 9.

With this event, IU will have performed at all major concert venues in Korea, encompassing Olympic Park KSPO DOME, where she held a fan meeting last September, along with Jamsil Main Stadium, the Seoul World Cup Stadium, and now Goyang Stadium.

Given her extensive experience with outdoor concerts, anticipation is high for how she will captivate the audience with her performances and stage direction at the Goyang concert.

Meanwhile, IU is actively pursuing her career as both a musician and an actress. She is set to appear in the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama ’21st Century Lady’ alongside Byun Woo-seok, portraying a romance that transcends social status. The drama is scheduled to premiere on April 10.
