BLACKPINK’s Jennie won a grand prize as a solo artist.
The 2025 Melon Music Awards (MMA2025) took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 20th.
Jennie secured the ‘Record of the Year’ award, one of the four grand prizes presented.
On stage, Jennie said, “I just finished my performance and I’m still a bit overwhelmed, but I’m very thankful for this big award.”
She continued, “This year has been incredibly meaningful to me. I released my first album and experienced many things, and I’m glad to end the year on a joyful note. Are our company staff watching? Thank you for your hard work and love.” She added, “I want to thank all the staff and the 50 dancers who made the stage with me. I will continue to be an artist who creates great music.”
Jennie also mentioned her BLACKPINK members, saying, “I miss my members so much. I feel lonely on my own. Thank you, BLINKs (the fandom), for your constant love.”
This year, Jennie released her first solo album ‘Ruby’ in March and swept the music charts domestically and internationally with the title track ‘like JENNIE,’ garnering immense love from listeners worldwide.
The 2025 Melon Music Awards featured performances by G-DRAGON, Jay Park, 10CM, ZICO, EXO, WOODZ, Jennie, aespa, IVE, Hanloro, BOYNEXTDOOR, RIIZE, PLAVE, NCT WISH, ILLIT, Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii, ALLDAY PROJECT, IDID, and ALPHA DRIVE ONE.
