Actress Jeon Ji-hyun captivated onlookers at the official event for her comeback film “Gunche” after an 11-year hiatus from the big screen, appearing in a surprising and stylish fashion.
On the morning of the 6th, Jeon attended the production briefing for the movie “Gunche” (directed by Yeon Sang-ho), which is set to premiere in May, held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
The event has garnered significant interest as it marks Jeon’s return to the big screen after her 2015 film “Assassination,” making this her first official movie event in 11 years.
On this day, Jeon appeared in an all-white outfit during the photo session.
The outfit featured a neat, shirt-style front, offering a calm, sophisticated impression, but revealed a bold backless design that highlighted Jeon’s unexpected allure and her height of 173 cm.
Jeon’s long, straight hair naturally followed the lines of the outfit, creating an elegant ambiance and completing a stylish look without any additional accessories.
During the group photo session, Jeon laughed heartily as she attempted a hand heart with co-stars Goo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo, adding a cheerful touch.
After the photo session, Jeon sat with director Yeon Sang-ho and the “Gunche” cast, where she expressed her trust in director Yeon, stating, “I’ve been a true fan of director Yeon for a long time and had no hesitation in taking this role.”
Jeon stated, “Having watched all of the director’s works, I always wanted to work with him at least once. I like the unique darkness in director Yeon’s portrayal of human traits that one doesn’t want to expose. I was curious about his actual personality.”
Jeon humorously remarked about director Yeon, saying, “He seemed like someone so full of warmth and love that discussing his ‘dark side’ felt unnecessary.” She added, “His affection was so abundant that it felt like he was directing for someone else, which made for a very comfortable filming experience.”
Director Yeon also expressed his satisfaction with working with Jeon for the first time, stating, “Actors who can showcase such a broad range of emotions are rare. In ‘Gunche,’ she managed to compress and display her wide range of acting. She is truly a great actor and superstar,” as he frequently raised his thumbs in approval.
