Singer Kang Daniel will begin his mandatory military service with active duty enlistment in February, his agency confirmed.
According to Xportsnews, a representative from Kang Daniel’s agency, Konnect Entertainment, stated, “Kang Daniel will enlist in the army on February 9.”
Consequently, he is expected to participate only partially in the Wanna One reunion reality program, set to air seven years after the group’s debut.
Kang Daniel has previously spoken about his military service plans throughout this year. He revealed that ‘PULSEPHASE,’ his album released late last year, would be his final album before enlistment.
He also mentioned on a fan communication platform, “There have been many questions about this, so I want to answer. It’s reality, right? And since I’m going to ‘study abroad’ (referring to military service) next year, perhaps I’ll just participate in the intro?”
Kang Daniel, born in 1996, debuted with Wanna One in 2017 through Mnet’s ‘Produce 101 Season 2.’
After group activities concluded, he launched a successful solo career, gaining significant popularity both in Korea and internationally.
