A lawyer has weighed in on the actions of Daniel, a former member of K-pop group NewJeans, who was recently notified of his contract termination.
On the 2nd, the YouTube channel ‘A Lawyer You Know’ posted a video titled “From Now On, Fight Each Other! Daniel vs. Biological Mother vs. Adoptive Mother (ADOR’s Division).”
In the video, lawyer Lee Jin-ho discussed Daniel’s current situation, relevant facts, and recent updates following his contract termination notice from agency ADOR last month.
Regarding Daniel’s recent activities, Lee commented, “It would be better not to act like this. This is not the time for volunteer work.” Reports indicated that Daniel participated in a briquette volunteer event even on the day his contract termination was announced.
Lee further stated, “From one perspective, by unilaterally terminating the contract, Daniel caused damage to the company, affecting its shareholders and investors.” He criticized, “It’s nonsensical to do volunteer work when you’ve intentionally caused harm to someone. You should have the awareness to realize ‘at least now, this is not right.'”
Lee emphasized, “You must understand that this is a very serious situation. Even if you win, you shouldn’t behave like this. There is still the second trial, and people have suffered due to your actions. You should show remorse and apologize at least minimally to those affected, especially as you are currently in a losing position.”
Meanwhile, on the 29th of last month, ADOR provided an update on discussions regarding the return of NewJeans members. Hani decided to return to ADOR, while ADOR continues discussions with Minji. ADOR, however, notified Daniel of his exclusive contract termination.
