Singer Lee Young-ji has donated a total of 100 million won to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization specializing in childhood cancer, from participatory content created with her fans.

This donation stemmed from a proposal to create participatory content that incorporates the increasingly popular culture of play and games, allowing fans to enjoy it together.

The first project, ‘Cops and Robbers,’ recruited participants through social media, attracting around 100,000 applicants and highlighting strong fan interest.

The content creation process also featured a collaboration with the production company Egg is Coming, providing another point of interest.

Lee Young-ji’s cumulative donations for children with cancer have now reached 140 million won with this contribution. Consequently, she has been appointed as a Noble Member of the ‘KCLF Honors Club,’ the high-donor club of the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

The entire donated amount of 100 million won will be used to cover treatment costs and scholarships for children with cancer.

She previously raised 40 million won from the proceeds of the limited edition goods sale for the 2024 ‘No Excuses Season 3’ and through personal donations.

These funds provided the ‘Together Hope Box,’ an initial hospitalization support kit for 300 children with cancer, and also supported hematopoietic stem cell transplant costs for one child with cancer.

Lee Young-ji expressed her thoughts on the donation, saying, “If the content I began with a joyful heart can contribute to preserving the time of the children, that in itself is meaningful.”
