NewJeans, ahead of their comeback, surpasses 1.5 billion streams on Spotify…Global sensation

The group NewJeans has once again set a record on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify.

According to Spotify on the 28th, NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) has recorded a total of 1,529,130,3402 streams for the 7 songs they have released as of the 26th. This achievement comes in just around 10 months since their debut.

In March, NewJeans achieved a cumulative 1 billion streams on Spotify. This record was set in the shortest period of time (219 days) by a K-pop artist and was also included in the Guinness World Records.

At that time, NewJeans surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify with their 6 songs and later added the collaboration song ‘Zero’ with Coca-Cola, achieving an additional 500 million streams in just over 2 and a half months. This highlights their expanding global influence even during their inactive period.

As of the 26th, out of their 7 songs, NewJeans has placed 5 songs in the Spotify mega-streaming ranks. ‘OMG,’ ‘Ditto,’ and ‘Hype boy’ have recorded over 300 million streams, while ‘Attention’ has surpassed 200 million streams, and ‘Cookie’ has surpassed 100 million streams.

They are also continuing their success on the Spotify charts. In the recently released global ‘Weekly Top Songs’ chart (as of May 25th), ‘OMG’ ranked 79th and ‘Ditto’ ranked 188th, maintaining steady popularity for over 4 months. Previously, ‘OMG’ and ‘Ditto’ also reached 74th and 82nd place respectively on the US Billboard Hot 100.
