ADOR has announced its position regarding the return of NewJeans members.
On the 29th, ADOR released an official statement, sharing updates on discussions with NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, and Danielle, and their families. The agency stated, “Following the court’s final ruling on the validity of their exclusive contracts, we have held extensive discussions with Minji, Hanni, Danielle, and their families.”
The statement detailed Hanni’s return to Korea with her family for “in-depth conversations” with ADOR. It explained, “During the process, they reviewed past events and took time to view issues objectively. After sincere discussions, Hanni decided to respect the court’s decision and continue with ADOR. Minji is also continuing conversations with ADOR to broaden mutual understanding.”
Conversely, regarding Danielle, ADOR stated, “We have determined that it would be difficult for her to continue as a member of NewJeans and an artist with ADOR, and we have notified her of the contract termination today.” The agency added that “legal action will be taken against a member of Danielle’s family and former director Min Hee-jin, who bear significant responsibility for instigating the dispute and delaying NewJeans’ return.”
ADOR further explained, “Through the discussion process, we realized that the members have held many misunderstandings about the company due to distorted and biased information they have persistently received, leading to the disputes.” Both ADOR and the artists “agreed that, to restore the love of fans and the public, a time-consuming process based on accurate facts is necessary to completely resolve these misunderstandings.” They also “agreed to share more about the controversies that have arisen during the dispute in the future, and we are discussing the timing and method for doing so.”
The statement concluded, “ADOR promises to wrap up the matter smoothly and do its utmost so that NewJeans can return to their fans as soon as possible.”
