2NE1’s Park Bom has sparked controversy by criticizing fellow group member Sandara Park, drawing renewed attention to her past actions.
On the 3rd, Park Bom released a long handwritten letter on her account, mentioning past drug prescription controversies and revealing that she was diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).
Park Bom’s past incident of having Adderall, which contains amphetamines, shipped from the U.S. to Korea was disclosed in June 2014. Adderall is a psychoactive medication used to treat ADHD, and prosecutors deferred her indictment upon confirming its therapeutic use.
However, Park Bom emphasized that her prescribed medication was not a drug, claiming that “Sandara Park was caught with drugs, and to cover it up, they made Park Bom the drug addict,” creating a stir.
She also mentioned her former agency YG Entertainment, its executive producer Yang Hyun-suk, Teddy, and CL (real name Lee Chae-rin), stating, “Do not report to the authorities that Park Bom used drugs in excess.”
The post was deleted about three hours later, around 5 PM.
Sandara Park’s former agency, Abyss Company, stated that “As Sandara Park’s contract has expired, we cannot confirm the details.” However, a close associate of Sandara Park told Xportsnews that the claim is “groundless,” while expressing concern for Park Bom’s current health.
This is not the first time Park Bom has stirred controversy on social media. Since September 2024, she has repeatedly referred to actor Lee Min-ho as ‘my husband,’ though her side explained it as “just fandom,” Lee Min-ho’s side also clarified in February last year that “there is no personal acquaintance with Park Bom; the claim is unfounded.”
In October last year, Park Bom accused YG of not paying her earnings properly and wrote about suing Yang Hyun-suk for fraud and embezzlement.
Park Bom is currently inactive due to health problems. Her agency stated at the time, “Park Bom is emotionally very unstable, unable to communicate smoothly, and urgently needs treatment and rest.” As a result, she did not participate in 2NE1’s group activities after their performance in the Coupang Play Series halftime show last August.
Many netizens have reacted to Park Bom’s inactivity due to health issues, with comments such as “It’s unfortunate in many ways,” “Is treatment not working well?” “Sandara must also be hurting,” and “The members must be feeling heartbroken.”
