Xportsnews reported that BLACKPINK’s Rosé recently shared the behind-the-scenes story of how her hit song ‘APT.’ almost wasn’t released.
On the 28th, the YouTube channel ‘Call Her Daddy’ posted a video titled “Alex Cooper Presents: A Grammy Special (ft. Rosé).”
In the video, Rosé appeared and shared various stories about her musical journey with host Alex Cooper.
During the episode, Alex Cooper asked Rosé if she had a personal moment when she felt the song would be a hit. Rosé confessed, “I think I gradually got used to it,” adding, “When I first created this song, I went home and played it on loop the whole night.”
Rosé continued, stating, “It was quite an intense song to listen to repeatedly,” and revealed that by morning, she had asked the producers and songwriters to delete it from her phone.

Rosé also candidly shared her reservations about ‘APT.’ She admitted, “I was worried it might be misunderstood because it was so closely tied to Korean culture,” adding, “I wasn’t confident because the Korean chant in the intro and the chorus felt so unfamiliar to me as an artist.”
Later, Rosé explained that she played about 10 songs for people, mentioning, “This is just a draft and something I made for fun,” before finally playing ‘APT.’ to gauge their reactions.
Rosé added, “I didn’t want to overthink my emotions, so I just wanted to see genuine reactions from people,” reflecting on the experience.
Meanwhile, ‘APT.,’ a song Rosé performed with Bruno Mars, was nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 68th Grammy Awards.
