Actress Shin Min-ah reportedly shed tears throughout her recent wedding to actor Kim Woo-bin, drawing significant attention.
Director Yook Sang-hyo, who collaborated with Shin on the film “Our Season,” wrote in a column for Hankyoreh on January 9: “The beautiful bride cried throughout the ceremony.”
Shin Min-ah and Kim Woo-bin tied the knot on December 20 of last year at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul, concluding a decade-long romance. Actor Lee Kwang-soo, a close friend of Kim, officiated the wedding. Singer Car, the Garden performed the wedding song. Do Kyung-soo was initially scheduled to perform but could only attend briefly as a guest due to EXO’s group schedule.
Director Yook shared, “I couldn’t help but laugh at Lee Kwang-soo’s serious tone as the officiant. It was even funnier when he mentioned Do Kyung-soo’s unavoidable schedule, quipping that he was ‘running only for success.'”
He recalled, “My wife sent a message telling me to look for BTS’s V, who was attending the ceremony. I eventually spotted him, quietly sitting among the actors, wearing glasses and modest attire, apparently trying not to draw attention away from the bride and groom.”
Kim Woo-bin made his entrance by pointing to the sky with his fingers and pounding his chest with his fist, a gesture reminiscent of soccer player Lee Dong-gook, while Shin Min-ah continued to shed tears.
Director Yook reflected, “As Kim Woo-bin had expressed, it’s touching to witness ‘a longtime boyfriend becoming a husband.’ Weddings are never easy. Sitting among Shin’s guests, I could feel the love saturating the atmosphere.” He congratulated the couple on their marriage.
He added, “The newlyweds came to our table to greet us. When the bride, with tears still visible, quietly said ‘We’ll live well,’ it moved me. Even those who seem to want for nothing harbor such earnest desires.” He concluded, “At this moment, the beloved star Shin Min-ah genuinely wishes to live happily with her husband.”
Meanwhile, Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah reportedly donated 300 million won on their wedding day, receiving additional congratulations.
