Hello, this is SM Entertainment.
We would like to address the issue concerning our artist Key.
We sincerely apologize for the delay in expressing our position, as we needed time to communicate with various parties regarding overseas tour schedules and activities.
Key first met Ms. Lee at a hospital in Gangnam, which he visited on a friend’s recommendation.
Key continued his treatment at the hospital and, when visiting the hospital was difficult, received home treatments a few times, unaware that seeing Ms. Lee at home might be problematic because he believed she was a doctor and she never indicated otherwise.
Recently, upon discovering the controversy over Ms. Lee’s medical license, Key realized for the first time that she was not a doctor and is deeply reflecting on his lack of awareness.
Key recognizes the seriousness of this matter and has decided to step down from his current schedules and programs.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to everyone, including our fans.
