Studio Dragon has reaffirmed its position as a leading force in the global K-drama market, driven by the domestic and international success of its productions this year.

Studio Dragon’s tvN series, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”, secured the No. 1 spot in the Netflix Global TV Show (Non-English) category for two consecutive weeks and remained in the TOP10 for ten consecutive weeks, according to Netflix’s official rankings. Meanwhile, the Disney+ original series “Fabricated City” claimed the top position in the Disney+ TV Show Worldwide category and stayed in the TOP10 for seven consecutive weeks, as reported by FlixPatrol. The TVING original series “Dear X” achieved the highest rank on Disney+ Japan, holding a spot in the TOP10 for seven consecutive weeks, while the Japanese version of the Amazon Prime Video original “Marry My Husband” was No. 1 for eight consecutive weeks on Amazon Prime Video Japan, also per FlixPatrol.

Significantly, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” defied the perception that historical dramas struggle overseas, achieving unprecedented international success. “Fabricated City” expanded its intellectual property from a previous theatrical release into a drama series. The Japanese version of “Marry My Husband” became the most successful Japanese-language drama by leveraging the Korean production system, and “Dear X” marked TVING’s global debut, making a strong impression on international audiences as an original series.

The global triumphs of these productions have garnered praise from international media. The New York Times described “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” as “a romantic comedy that conveys love through the language of food,” while Forbes lauded it as “a drama where the true star is the intricately prepared dishes.” Additionally, Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post praised “Fabricated City” for “achieving greater development than the original and maintaining interest and immersion.”

Beyond these titles, other Studio Dragon series, including “Our Unwritten Seoul”, “Head over Heels”, and “The Price of Confession”, have also achieved success in overseas markets, extending their global hit streak. “Our Unwritten Seoul” appeared in the Netflix Global TV Show (Non-English) TOP10 for five weeks, and “Head over Heels” climbed to second place in the global TV Show category on Prime Video, according to FlixPatrol. “The Price of Confession” also remained in the Netflix Global TV Show (Non-English) TOP10 for three consecutive weeks. Furthermore, “Dear X” has demonstrated its global reach with strong performance on Disney+ Japan, HBO Max in Southeast Asia, and STARZPLAY in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

A Studio Dragon representative stated, “2025 was a year where we validated the content’s expandability and competitiveness across various global OTT platforms, transcending traditional borders.” The representative added, “We will continue to broaden our engagement with global audiences through well-made content spanning diverse genres.”
