Producer Teddy has received a Prime Minister’s Commendation.
On December 10, Teddy was awarded in the Overseas Advancement Contribution category at the ‘2025 Korea Content Awards’ held at COEX, Gangnam, Seoul.
The ‘Content Awards’ is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency, recognizing individuals who have significantly contributed to the production of outstanding content and the promotion of content exports leading to the development of the domestic content industry.
Teddy was recognized for his contributions to exporting content, spreading Korean Wave (Hallyu), and facilitating international cultural exchanges. Having composed numerous songs for BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK, Teddy has established himself as a leading K-pop producer. He later founded THEBLACKLABEL, discovering and signing artists with unique individuality.
In particular, THEBLACKLABEL solidified its musical influence with the debut of its first girl group, MEOVV, and the high-profile rookie AllDay Project, which took 2025 by storm, opening the fifth generation of K-pop. Additionally, Teddy composed many of the main OSTs for Netflix’s animated film ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters,’ elevating the status of K-content globally.
Recognizing Teddy’s influence in driving the globalization of K-pop through the creation of new music and content, the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the ‘Content Awards’ was awarded. A representative from THEBLACKLABEL commented, “The global attention to K-culture is a joy and happiness for the entertainment industry, and it’s thanks to those who acknowledge and encourage this value that better content can be created. THEBLACKLABEL will continue to work for the progress of K-content.”
