Track athlete Kim Min-ji and other notable figures are generating buzz with their appearance on ‘Single’s Inferno 5’.
On the 20th, Netflix unveiled the cast of ‘Single’s Inferno’ Season 5. Global audiences focused on the cast, known for their striking looks and fit physiques.
Track athlete Kim Min-ji, nicknamed ‘Track’s Karina,’ made a particularly surprising appearance as a female participant.
Kim Min-ji, who has appeared on various shows including SBS’s ‘Kick a Goal,’ Channel A’s ‘Baseball Queen,’ and TV Chosun’s ‘Survival King,’ was warmly received following her debut in the ‘Single’s Inferno 5’ preview, with viewers calling her ‘famous’ and a ‘track goddess’.
Kim Min-ji described herself, stating that despite her ‘cold appearance,’ she is ‘very bright and full of charm.’ She added that her athletic skills allow her to excel, perhaps ‘even more than the male participants,’ a fact she tries to ‘keep a secret.’
She further revealed her direct approach to dating, saying, “When I like someone, I go straight for them, knocking until the door opens. If I find someone I like, I’ll follow them around.” She explained her reason for joining the show: “It’s been a while since I’ve dated, and I wanted to meet someone and feel excited, which is why I joined ‘Single’s Inferno 5’.”
The arrival of the ‘track goddess’ drew explosive interest, alongside other female participants with perfect visuals, including Choi Mina-soo, the first Korean winner of Miss Earth 2022; Kim Go-eun, the 2022 Miss Korea runner-up; and Park Hee-sun, Miss Korea 2024.
Notably, Kim Go-eun, who previously garnered attention for romance rumors involving G-Dragon, is also known as the daughter of national soccer player Kim Hyun-soo.
Meanwhile, ‘Single’s Inferno’ is a candid and fiery dating reality show set on a deserted island, where participants can only leave as couples. Season 5 drew attention even before its release, with reports of heightened physical intimacy among participants.
Veteran hosts Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Da-hee, Kyuhyun, Hanhae, and Dex return as MCs. Producers Kim Jae-won, Kim Jung-hyun, and Park Soo-ji stated that the ‘Truth Game,’ a popular segment each season, would return in a different format, promising unpredictable choices and emotional dynamics. As of the 20th, four episodes have been released on Netflix.
