BABYMONSTER is drawing attention as their song continues to rise in popularity amidst a viral challenge craze.
According to YG Entertainment, BABYMONSTER’s track “Really Like You,” from their first full album [DRIP], topped TikTok Korea’s Music Viral 50 chart for five days, from the 11th to the 15th.
The track continues to hold top positions on viral and trending charts, with over 100,000 videos now featuring the song.
Short-form platforms are also buzzing with activity. Reels featuring “Really Like You” on BABYMONSTER’s official Instagram have accumulated approximately 100 million views, and the track has re-entered Korea’s YouTube Daily Shorts Popular Songs chart. The song’s popularity is being driven by both challenges and teaser content.
The “Really Like You” challenge, which involves creating an ‘O’ shape with hands to the “Okay, okay” lyrics, has garnered a strong response. The cute gestures expressing excitement, the members’ bright smiles, and the easy-to-follow choreography have encouraged widespread participation from both the public and fellow artists.
This surge in popularity was sparked by a fan concert in Japan last December. As the group’s recognition grew following year-end award shows, a fan concert video quickly spread online, generating significant word-of-mouth. The “Okay, okay” part and the song’s winter aesthetic were revisited, further contributing to its rising popularity.
The momentum from short-form buzz is now extending to music charts. “Really Like You” recently re-entered the TOP100 of Korea’s YouTube Weekly Popular Songs chart, and its music video is also performing strongly on daily popular charts. The song is climbing charts on major domestic and international platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Melon, and Vibe.
Additionally, BABYMONSTER has sparked further interest by releasing a new version of the challenge. The members’ enthusiastic participation, coupled with fan reactions, is driving curiosity about how far “Really Like You” can climb.
