Actor Yim Si-wan has debuted as a solo artist after 15 years, showcasing his soft and romantic vocal style.
Yim Si-wan’s first solo album, “The Reason,” and its title track music video were released on the 5th at 6 PM.
After his contract with his former agency expired in August, Yim Si-wan announced a new partnership with The Black Label last month. Meanwhile, he joined the music label SMArt under SM Entertainment as their first artist to embark on his solo music career.
Yim Si-wan’s first mini-album through SM includes a total of five tracks, featuring his musical taste in various styles, including the title track. The album includes tracks like “Dear My Love,” “Two Of Us,” “Where I Need To Be,” and “Pieces.”
The title track “The Reason” is a medium tempo pop song enriched with dynamic instrument arrangements, evoking scenes from a romantic movie.
The lyrics are filled with romantic language, carrying an exciting message: “You keep saying sweet things / the perfect person I dreamt of,” “You are the reason / I think of you every day / at that moment I always become the main character of the world,” “you’re my reason / you’re why I smile / already you’re everything to me.”
With a warm sensibility fitting the season and sweet vocals, Yim Si-wan maximized his previously unknown charm as a singer. In a Q&A before the album release, he mentioned, “The stage is one of the biggest reasons for this album’s existence, so I kept trying to picture the stage during the process.” Fans are eager to see his solo performance.
Meanwhile, Xportsnews exclusively reported that Yim Si-wan will appear in the upcoming tvN drama “Why Don’t You Know She’s a Woman?” scheduled for next year. Expanding his realm as a solo artist, he is expected to continue his success as an established actor.
