Singer BoA is drawing attention as her exclusive contract, which has spanned 25 years since her debut with SM Entertainment, is set to expire.
On the 31st, BoA’s contract with SM Entertainment ends. Previously, BoA addressed her contract duration on her personal social media account last April, stating, “My contract runs until December 31, 2025, and I will do my best to be happy until then.”
To date, neither SM Entertainment nor BoA has officially commented on a possible contract renewal. However, according to music industry sources, both parties have reportedly been in discussions regarding a renewal.

BoA debuted in 2000 at the age of 14 and has remained at the top as a female solo artist. She achieved unprecedented success not only in South Korea but also in Japan, earning the title “Star of Asia” and leaving a significant mark on the global expansion of K-pop.
Recently, BoA served as a producer for NCT WISH and released a new song, “Is It Really, No?” maintaining her active music career. She also returned to the small screen after eight years, starring as Oh Yoo-ra in the tvN drama “Marry My Husband,” which concluded in February and received praise for her performance.
All eyes are on BoA, who continues to work as a singer, producer, and actress, as she faces the decision of whether to renew her 25-year association with SM Entertainment or pursue a new path.
