BTS Gwanghwamun Concert Q&A
Q. How do you feel about the upcoming ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ performance?
RM: I sustained some injuries while practicing for this grand stage. I will adjust my performance according to my condition but promise to do my best. Above all, I want to deliver a great show to those who have been waiting.
Jin: I’m very nervous. I never imagined performing at Gwanghwamun Square; this moment feels surreal. It’s all thanks to the hard work of many. I want to express my gratitude to everyone involved.
Suga: Preparing for the world tour and the Gwanghwamun comeback show simultaneously kept us incredibly busy. It was a period of concentrated effort for the entire team, making it deeply meaningful. I’m highly anticipating it.
J-Hope: There’s pressure, as it’s a major global event, but I’m motivated to perform well. I’ll maintain my energy and focus until the end, especially since it’s been a while since we performed together as a full group.
Jimin: Despite the excitement, I’m honestly a bit anxious. However, I’m even more thrilled to meet fans again after a long time. I’ll focus on conveying those emotions on stage.
V: I’m happy. We’ve prepared thoroughly and practiced daily. I want to complete the performance successfully and safely.
Jungkook: I’m excited and nervous. While there’s joy, there’s also concern, which led me to prepare even more. My goal is to create an unforgettable performance and an enjoyable time for everyone.
Q. Key Highlights of the Gwanghwamun Square Performance
RM: To maximize Gwanghwamun’s symbolic space, we designed an ‘open cube’ set, allowing both Gwanghwamun and the stage to be visible within a single frame.
Jin: The cube structure is a key stage device. We put a lot of thought into the set design, and the cube proved to be the solution. The production will utilize it in various ways, so please look forward to it.
Suga: We prepared the stage with the mindset of always showcasing something new. This time, we collaborated with international producers to create a unique presentation.
J-Hope: The stage setup creates the impression of Gwanghwamun framed within the performance. BTS’s performance within that frame will be symbolic.
Jimin: With the album titled ‘ARIRANG’, performing ‘ARIRANG’ at Gwanghwamun is expected to be stunning. Look forward to the moment when space and music merge.
V: The cube that vividly frames Gwanghwamun is the most noteworthy element. Performing in that space is an honor and feels special.
Jungkook: They divided the stage into three areas, and many new elements have been prepared. Following the overall flow will enhance the performance’s enjoyment.

BTS will present a performance with a newly arranged setlist, aiming to meet the expectations of long-awaiting fans. ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ aims to bridge the world through music and showcase the charm of Korea’s cultural heritage.
The production team comprises individuals experienced in global stage productions. Hamish Hamilton, who directed the 2012 London Olympic ceremonies and Super Bowl halftime shows for artists like Madonna and Beyoncé, is leading the direction. Guy Carrington, who was involved in producing the Emmy Awards, is joining as a producer.
The album ‘ARIRANG’ embodies the group’s identity and the universal emotions they encounter. Chairman Bang Si-hyuk led the overall production, finely crafting the album to represent BTS’s roots and feelings through music.
