Global interest in BTS’s upcoming release is surging.
BTS’s fifth studio album, ‘ARIRANG,’ has surpassed 3 million pre-saves on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify as of February 4.
The new album exceeded 1 million pre-saves just two days after becoming available on Spotify, then surpassed 2 million on the fourth day, with its popularity continuing to rise. Many are curious to see if it will surpass Taylor Swift’s record of 6 million pre-saves for her 12th album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ the highest in Spotify’s history.
‘ARIRANG’ also topped Spotify’s ‘Countdown Charts Global’ for two consecutive weeks (as of January 21 and 28). This chart tracks pre-saves for upcoming albums and singles, serving as an indicator of global music fans’ anticipation.

Interest in the new release is evident across various metrics. Following the announcement of the album release and world tour on the global superfan platform Weverse, membership subscriptions tripled.
Additionally, BTS’s anthology album ‘Proof’ title track ‘Yet To Come’ and the song ‘Love Maze’ from their third studio album, ‘LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’,’ surpassed 100 million and 5 million streams respectively as of last December, earning ‘Platinum’ and ‘Gold’ certifications in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Anticipation for BTS’s full group comeback after approximately 3 years and 9 months is prompting fans to revisit their music.
Meanwhile, BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ is set for release on March 20 at 1 PM KST. It will feature 14 songs expressing universal emotions such as identity, longing, and deep love.
Following the album’s release, BTS will hold ‘BTS The Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21. This event will mark the first solo performance by an artist at the venue, setting another milestone in Korean cultural history. The event will be live-streamed on Netflix to over 190 countries and regions.
