XG producer Jacobs and singer-producer Chancellor have been arrested on suspicion of drug possession.
Agency XGLAX told Xportsnews on the 24th that it is ‘currently verifying the facts’ regarding reports of Jacobs and Chancellor’s arrest on drug possession charges.
Japanese media reported on the 23rd that Jacobs and Chancellor were apprehended in a hotel room in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on suspicion of violating drug control laws. Two employees from major Japanese agency Avex were also reportedly present.
Police found bags containing suspected cocaine and dried cannabis in their room. Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs and whether they were used.
Jacobs debuted in 2012 with the group Dalmatian. After the group disbanded in 2013, he transitioned to a producer, debuting the seven-member girl group XG in 2022.
Chancellor is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has been active as a member of the producing team Duble Sidekick. He is currently affiliated with XGLAX, where Jacobs serves as CEO. In 2022, he married a flight attendant three years his junior and announced the birth of his daughter last October.
