Court Orders Dolphiners Film to Pay ADOR 1 Billion Won Over Unauthorized NewJeans Music Video Release

ADOR

ADOR has won a lawsuit seeking damages from Dolphiners Film, a production company that directed several music videos for NewJeans, over an unauthorized music video release.

On January 13, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Settlement Division 62, presided over by Chief Judge Lee Hyun-seok, held a sentencing hearing for ADOR’s 1.1 billion won damages lawsuit against Dolphiners Film and director Shin Woo-suk.

The court ruled that Dolphiners Film must pay ADOR 1 billion won plus accrued interest. However, the damages claim against director Shin was dismissed.

Previously, director Shin, who produced NewJeans’ ‘ETA’ music video, uploaded a director’s cut on Dolphiners Film’s YouTube channel. ADOR filed the lawsuit, claiming the unauthorized release of the video was illegal.
