Dismissed NewJeans Member Danielle Reveals Two-Month-Old Letter, Sparking Debate

Daniel

Former NewJeans member Danielle, recently dismissed from the group, has revealed a letter she penned. According to Danielle, she wrote the letter last November, coinciding with the day the members expressed their intention to return to ADOR amidst an exclusive contract dispute.

On the 16th, Danielle uploaded several images of a letter addressed to “Bunnies” (the fandom name) on her account, captioned “an unsent letter.”

In the letter, Danielle wrote, “I am writing this letter because I want to deeply embrace the new chapter and new beginning we will all welcome together. It won’t be easy to let go of the past, but I want to momentarily set aside the past and focus on what truly matters: our hearts, dreams, and the warm days ahead.”

She also expressed gratitude to fans, stating, “I can’t express everything now, but I can say one thing for sure: my heart’s direction remains unchanged.”

Danielle particularly referred to Minji, Hanni, Haerin, and Hyein as “my second family,” expressing deep affection for the members. She added, “Although our time together was disrupted, nothing can separate us, as our bond is a unique and special connection that should never be taken for granted.”

She emphasized, “There will be challenges ahead, but we will protect each other and move forward. That’s what’s most important to me.”

She mentioned that the letter was written on November 12, 2025, the day ADOR announced the return of members Haerin and Hyein. On the same day, Minji, Danielle, and Hanni also declared their return through their legal representatives, though they had to undergo individual consultations.

Following extensive discussions, Hanni was confirmed to return to ADOR on the 29th of last month, while Minji’s status remains undecided. Danielle, however, was notified of her exclusive contract’s termination and subsequently faced a lawsuit demanding damages and penalties totaling around 43.1 billion KRW.

The release of Danielle’s letter, penned on the day when all NewJeans members declared their return to ADOR, has drawn attention due to her expressed deep affection for the group and desire to maintain their unity.

After her dismissal from the group, Danielle has actively engaged with fans through her personal social media account and even hosted a solo live broadcast on the 12th. During this broadcast, she shared, “I fought until the end to be with the members. They are a part of me,” adding, “NewJeans is always in one corner of my heart. Even if we are in slightly different places, with the same heart, we are one Bunnies.”

However, reactions to the letter are mixed. Some criticize, saying, “Other members might have a lot to say too, but she keeps bringing it up,” “The date is significant,” “Why disclose the letter date now?” and “Focus on your own activities.” Others continue to support Danielle, stating, “Always on Danielle’s side,” and “Let’s stay together.”
