The Korea Entertainment Producers Association has released a statement regarding the indefinite postponement of ‘Dream Concert 2026 in Hong Kong’.

On January 31, the Korea Entertainment Producers Association (KEPA) expressed regret as it conveyed unfortunate news to K-pop fans and stakeholders worldwide.

KEPA and Prom Entertainment, organizers of ‘Dream Concert 2026 in Hong Kong’ — originally scheduled for February 6 and 7, 2026, in Hong Kong — confirmed its postponement. The decision came from a unilateral notice by Chinese organizer Changsha Tonggu Cultural Heritage Company, made without the agreement of either the association or the Korean organizer.

KEPA explained that both the association and Prom Entertainment had kept open the possibility of proceeding with the concert as scheduled, consistently seeking ways to continue the performance and clearly expressing their stance against abandoning the stage. However, despite these efforts, they received a unilateral postponement notice from Changsha Tonggu Cultural Heritage Company, the local Chinese organizer, without prior consultation or sufficient explanation. This made it challenging to proceed with the event as scheduled.

They added that while the decision was not the fault of the association or organizers, they deeply regretted the confusion and inconvenience that resulted for the audience, artists, and related companies who had been anticipating the concert. The association and organizers are currently reviewing procedures, including contract and legal review, to clarify the exact circumstances and responsibilities of this matter and are cautiously discussing subsequent response measures.

‘Dream Concert 2026 in Hong Kong’ was scheduled to take place on February 6 and 7 at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium. The initial lineup, including EXO-CBX, Hwasa, Taemin, and The Boyz, had already garnered significant global fan interest.

First, we deeply regret having to convey unfortunate news to K-pop fans and stakeholders worldwide.

The ‘Dream Concert 2026 in Hong Kong,’ scheduled for February 6 and 7, 2026, and organized by the Korea Entertainment Producers Association and Prom Entertainment, has been postponed. This decision follows a unilateral notice from the Chinese organizer, Changsha Tonggu Cultural Heritage Company, made without the agreement of either the association or the Korean organizer.

The association and Prom Entertainment kept open the possibility of proceeding with the concert as scheduled. We consistently sought ways to continue the performance, clearly expressing our stance of not giving up on the stage under any circumstances.

However, despite these efforts, the local Chinese organizer, Changsha Tonggu Cultural Heritage Company, issued a unilateral postponement notice without prior consultation or sufficient explanation, making it challenging to proceed with the event as scheduled.

Though this decision was not the fault of the association or organizers, we deeply regret the confusion and inconvenience that resulted for the audience, artists, and related companies awaiting the concert. The association and organizers are currently reviewing procedures, including contract and legal review, to clarify the exact circumstances and responsibilities of this matter and are cautiously discussing subsequent response measures.

The ‘Dream Concert 2026 in Hong Kong,’ prepared with hopes of enhancing cultural exchange between Korea and China, is a decision the association views as contrary to the aim of expanding cultural exchange. The association recognizes the complexity of the issues intertwined with the overall environment of Korea-China cultural exchange and expresses considerable regret about the situation.

The Korea Entertainment Producers Association, which has operated the representative K-pop performance brand ‘Dream Concert’ for the past 30 years, will continue to prioritize its responsibility towards the audience, artists, and the industry.

Once again, we sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting for the ‘Dream Concert 2026 in Hong Kong’.

Thank you.
