BLACKPINK’s momentum builds once more. At the forefront of K-pop globalization, these icons are releasing their much-anticipated second full album ‘DEADLINE’ after 3 years and 5 months. Xportsnews examines everything from their musical narratives to their individual journeys, anticipating the impact of the new release.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, all of whom have reached new heights as solo artists, are reuniting as BLACKPINK for an even brighter spotlight.

On the 27th, BLACKPINK will release their third mini-album ‘DEADLINE’, which includes the title track ‘GO’ among its five tracks. The release garners further attention as it marks a significant 3 years and 5 months since their last full album in September 2022.

Moreover, following the expiration of their exclusive contracts with YG Entertainment in 2023, BLACKPINK opted to renew only as a group. Individually, they continue to flourish within their own domains, achieving remarkable individual success, extending their influence as global luxury brand ambassadors and maintaining top-tier social media followings worldwide.

Their group activities are therefore even more highly anticipated. Each member’s solo endeavors have revealed unique styles and personalities distinct from BLACKPINK’s usual color, making their reunion a fascinating point of interest to see how they harmonize with bold new dynamics.

Last year, Jisoo’s solo tracks ‘earthquake’ and ‘EYES CLOSED’ hit top spots on the Billboard charts and garnered over 100 million views on YouTube, reflecting their immense popularity. She is also making strides as an actress, continuing her acting career with a role in the upcoming Netflix series ‘Monthly Boyfriend’ set to release this March.

Jennie, who left a strong impression with each solo work, achieved remarkable success with her first full album ‘Ruby’. Rolling Stone listed it among its ‘Best Albums of 2025’, and Forbes Korea ranked her first in its ‘Korean Idol of the Year 2025’. She also maintained high positions across charts like Spotify and Apple Music, showcasing her exceptional solo powers.

Rosé made history with ‘Apartment (APT.)’, becoming the first K-pop artist nominated for major Grammy Award categories including ‘Song of the Year’. She wrote new chapters of success, topping the 2025 Global Singles Chart by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), a first for any Korean or non-North American/European artist.

Lisa released her first full solo album last year and made a grand appearance on the Coachella Sahara Stage. Her collaboration on ‘Born Again’ with Doja Cat and Ray earned her a third nomination in the Best K-Pop category at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.

Given their astonishing solo careers, the work and synergy these four members will produce together are eagerly anticipated. BLACKPINK recently concluded a world tour spanning 16 cities and 33 shows, proving their enduring cohesion.

Celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, BLACKPINK also became the first global artist to surpass 100 million YouTube subscribers. Excitement is building to see what the ‘brightest BLACKPINK of the present’ — after making such vibrant solo marks — will achieve as a group.
