The group (G)I-DLE has once again reaffirmed its identity.

(G)I-DLE released their new digital single ‘Mono (Feat. skaiwater)’ on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 27th. Returning as a complete group after eight months, they chose to strip away any excess and focus on the essence of music with this new release.

‘Mono’ conveys a message of focusing on one’s true self, free from external gazes, expressed in (G)I-DLE’s unique musical style. The track features a restrained yet sophisticated sound, with the harmonious blend of the members’ diverse vocal tones enhancing its overall quality.

British rapper skaiwater features on the track, enriching the sound. For the first time since their debut, (G)I-DLE collaborated with an outside artist on a group song, marking a fresh attempt.

The music video also reflects the song’s mood, featuring a simple black-and-white monochrome composition. Instead of showcasing a flamboyant performance, the direction focuses on striking visuals and the music itself, leaving a strong impression. This further emphasizes (G)I-DLE’s message of focusing on ‘essence’.

Earlier, (G)I-DLE stated regarding the album release, “The song incorporates the idea of focusing on essence, stripping away all effects,” adding, “We hope you’ll focus on its addictive melody and lyrics.”

As the members stated, (G)I-DLE takes a straightforward approach with ‘Mono.’ Anticipation is building for the complete group’s impactful return after eight months.
