How Far Will SEVENTEEN’s Units Go? Dokyeom X Seungkwan to Make a Comeback on January 12 Next Year

SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN’s main vocalists Dokyeom and Seungkwan are forming a new unit to release their first mini-album, “Serenade,” on January 12 next year.

On the 17th at midnight, Dokyeom X Seungkwan unveiled the trailer “An Ordinary Love” for “Serenade” on the official HYBE Labels YouTube channel, raising anticipation among global fans.

The story follows lovers on different life paths. It depicts Dokyeom unable to let go of unanswered calls and moments with his partner where they seem worlds apart even in the same space. Withered plants and dried fruits symbolize their relationship. Dokyeom’s monotonous life takes a turn with a coincidental meeting, bringing new tension.

Seungkwan appears as a part-time worker who reminisces about past love while looking at a comic book brought by a customer. Lost in warm memories, he hurriedly tries to return the book but accidentally drops one. Seungkwan chasing after the customer, intertwined with the comic book title “Blue,” piques curiosity about the album’s story.

The album title “Serenade” means “a song of love sung at night.” Dokyeom X Seungkwan captures every moment between meeting and parting through their unique emotional storytelling, creating an album filled with winter emotions. The new release is expected to evoke deep empathy and immersion as it portrays various moments of everyday love, from monotony and disconnection to new beginnings.

Having showcased their outstanding vocal skills in SEVENTEEN’s group albums, solo tracks, and OSTs, Dokyeom X Seungkwan’s harmony combines delicate technique, rich vocal range, and profound expressiveness. Their unique vocal tones signal the revival of a “K-pop traditional vocal duo.”
