Singer Hwasa’s “Good Goodbye” is expanding its popularity globally.
According to the Billboard chart released on December 6, “Good Goodbye” ranked 43rd on the Billboard Global 200. This is the first chart entry since its digital release on October 15.
The song had previously peaked at 4th on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart upon its release, but it re-entered the chart and climbed to 2nd place due to its rising popularity, marking a career high.
Meanwhile, on December 3, the song topped the iTunes song charts in four regions, including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Kyrgyzstan. It also ranked 2nd in Hong Kong and Indonesia, 3rd in Thailand and Vietnam, 14th in France, and 27th in the U.S., proving its rising international popularity.
Hwasa became widely popular after a performance with actor Park Jung-min at the ’46th Blue Dragon Film Awards’ held at Yeouido KBS Hall on November 19.

By November 22, just 38 days after release, the song had topped major domestic music charts such as Melon Top 100, Hot 100, Bugs, and Flo. It continued its popularity surge, achieving the ‘Perfect All-Kill’ (PAK) on six major music sites, including Melon, Genie, Bugs, YouTube Music, Flo, and Vibe, the first solo female artist to do so this year.
The music video released alongside the song also showed rapid growth, nearing 55 million views, as Hwasa continues to capture attention and popularity in the music industry.
Beginning with the question of whether “saying a good goodbye” is possible, “Good Goodbye” is a warm breakup song that wishes for the happiness of the other person, and Hwasa and actor Park Jung-min’s synergy in the music video became a hot topic.
Additionally, the emotional chemistry between Hwasa and Park Jung-min at the Blue Dragon Awards stood out in their heartfelt performance, becoming a legendary stage of the awards and continuing to fuel the song’s reverse-charting success.
In response to the popularity, Hwasa expressed her gratitude on her account, saying, “Thank you to Jung-min, my unforgettable beautiful breakup partner, for being with me until the end in such a significant place.” She continued, “Thanks to my soul partner Woo-sang oppa who always supports Hwasa’s journey, and to Psy oppa who is always a big motivator and a shelter, I send my sincere gratitude and love to all my beloved Moomoos.”
In June 2023, Hwasa signed an exclusive contract with P Nation, headed by Psy, and has been actively promoting her music.
