Min Hee-jin to Launch New Boy Group Ahead of ₩26 Billion Put Option Verdict

Min Hee-jin

Min Hee-jin, former CEO of ADOR, has announced the establishment of a new label, marking her official solo career path.

Min Hee-jin’s new label, OK Records, officially launched on February 5, releasing 23 campaign videos that hint at the debut of a new boy group.

Previously, Min Hee-jin teased the launch of OK Records by posting “2026 02 05 10AM Coming soon” along with a photo and short video on her personal account.

Additionally, she mentioned plans for a boy group launch after NewJeans on a broadcast. The campaign videos formally announced auditions, adopting a wanted ad format that seeks male applicants born between 2008 and 2013, regardless of nationality.

The campaign revealed audition criteria, including nationality and age, and promoted a website for detailed audition information.

The timing of OK Records’ announcement for the new boy group’s launch is particularly intriguing, coming exactly one week before the final verdict in Min Hee-jin’s lawsuit against HYBE regarding a ₩26 billion put option.

The court will issue a ruling on February 12 in the lawsuit filed by HYBE against Min Hee-jin, seeking to confirm the cancellation of their shareholder contract. HYBE previously moved to cancel the contract in 2024, alleging Min Hee-jin was attempting to privatize NewJeans and ADOR.

That August, HYBE’s board dismissed Min Hee-jin from her CEO position at ADOR. In November, she resigned from her director position and informed HYBE of her intention to exercise the put option.

HYBE argues that it terminated the shareholder contract in July, nullifying the put option. Conversely, Min Hee-jin insists there was no violation of the shareholder agreement and that HYBE’s cancellation notice is ineffective.

Both sides have been engaged in intense legal battles, and the final ruling is pending. Before the ruling, Min Hee-jin distanced herself from NewJeans by conducting an emergency press conference, alleging a NewJeans member’s family was behind the tampering allegations, further isolating her from the group.

Amidst this, Min Hee-jin announced the launch of her own label, solidifying her individual career path. Many are also focused on next week’s shareholder contract lawsuit verdict with HYBE.
