MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul continues her musical journey.
Moonbyul is set to release her third single ‘REV’ on various music platforms at 6 PM on the 25th.
The title track ‘Hertz’ boasts an intense beat, with Moonbyul’s voice layered over it, conveying the unstoppable energy of a thrill ride.
The track, with a BPM of 114, is likened to stepping on the gas pedal, where engine vibrations are felt throughout the body. It aims to provide listeners with a perfectly immersive experience, navigating through overlapping frequencies and noise.
The music video, released alongside the track, enhances immersion as Moonbyul unwaveringly advances toward the starting grid. Her precise and sharp movements, performed with a dance crew, convey speed and rhythm.
Beyond the title track ‘Hertz,’ the single ‘REV’ also includes ‘DREAMER’ and ‘Gise.’ ‘DREAMER’ depicts a psychedelic moment of sinking into the freest ‘dream’ route only Moonbyul can navigate, featuring dreamy vocals and a psychedelic guitar tone. ‘Gise’ takes on a powerful moombahton rhythm, sprinting off the predetermined path at high speed.
‘REV,’ which means ‘to increase the engine’s RPM,’ showcases Moonbyul’s prowess as an ‘all-rounder,’ integrating vocals, rap, and performance, all powered by her unique frequency.
To achieve this, Moonbyul personally participated in the writing and composing of all tracks, leading the overall production process to demonstrate her evolved musical capabilities.
