K-pop group ONEUS is embarking on a new journey, writing a fresh chapter in their story.
On January 20 at 6 p.m. KST, ONEUS (Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, Xion) released their single album ‘ORIGIN’ and the music video for the title track ‘Grenade’.
The single album ‘ORIGIN’ symbolizes the group’s roots and a new beginning. Instead of merely revisiting their origins, ONEUS confronts their foundations to tell a story of rebirth and new futures.
The title track ‘Grenade’ features intense, uncontrolled emotions set against a heavy bassline. The song builds tension with its compelling structure, as suppressed energy bursts forth like a pulled grenade pin. ONEUS boldly expands their musical spectrum, delivering a powerful sense of immersion.
Members Keonhee and Hwanwoong participated in the songwriting, further intensifying ONEUS’ unique conceptual charm.
The album also includes two other tracks: ‘STOP & MOVE,’ a lively and funky track that encourages free movement, and ‘When you’re close to me,’ which delivers profound resonance with its flowing, ethereal synth sound and delicate emotional lines.
‘When you’re close to me’ is a track recorded by member Seoho before his enlistment, featuring the voices of all five members, making it a special gift for fans.
The accompanying music video captures ONEUS’ boundless journey toward new futures in a void-like space, showcasing their powerful charisma that overcomes imperfections. Their energetic yet restrained group performance is expected to affirm their status as a ‘fourth-generation representative performer’.
ONEUS also demonstrates exceptional concept adaptability, freely traversing styles with fusion hanboks and chic leather outfits, boasting a dazzling presence as they illuminate dark spaces.
This release marks the final song ONEUS will release under RBW.
Previously, RBW announced the termination of their exclusive contract with ONEUS, stating, “While the contract termination is separate, we and the members agree that the value and identity of ONEUS must continue. Consequently, they have decided to keep the group active under the name ONEUS in the future.”
