Seoul City Conditionally Approves BTS Gwanghwamun Concert Safety Plan

BTS

Seoul City has conditionally approved the safety management plan for BTS’s comeback show at Gwanghwamun.

On the morning of the 3rd, the Seoul Safety Management Committee’s first regional festival subcommittee reviewed the ‘BTS 2026 Comeback Show@Seoul’ safety management plan. It conditionally approved the plan, requesting additional detailed execution plans, such as enhanced crowd safety management.

Seoul City explained that after reviewing the safety management plan, some detailed items require improvement. These include strengthening crowd safety management, refining emergency medical and transport systems, supplementing toilets and convenience facilities, detailing emergency scenarios, and enhancing exit management plans.

Seoul City plans to ensure safety by confirming the implementation of these improvements after event organizers submit the updated safety management plan by the 10th. Before the event, Seoul City will conduct a joint on-site inspection with relevant agencies.

Meanwhile, BTS will hold the “BTS Comeback Live: Arirang” concert at 8 PM on the 21st at Gwanghwamun Square. During the concert, which commemorates the release of their album of the same name, BTS will perform their new song for the first time.

This will be the first concert by an artist or group at Gwanghwamun Square. It also marks BTS’s first full-group return to the stage after completing their military service, an event expected to draw a large crowd to the concert venue.

Tickets for BTS’s Gwanghwamun concert sold out immediately upon release. The concert will be broadcast live worldwide via Netflix.
