The 35th Seoul Music Awards is set for June 20 at Inspire Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
Since its inception in 1990, the Seoul Music Awards has been a living history of K-POP’s growth. The 35th awards ceremony promises to captivate global music fans with spectacular stage productions and impressive scale at Inspire Arena, the nation’s first performance-specialized facility.
A hallmark of the Seoul Music Awards is its principle of awarding the Grand Prize to only ‘one team.’ This practice of maintaining the value and weight of the Grand Prize has been a key indicator of the ceremony’s prestige for 35 years. From Byeon Jin-sub at the first ceremony to artists like Seo Taiji and Boys, BTS, EXO, and NCT Dream, this event has featured the top artists of the times, drawing attention to who will be honored this year.
The Seoul Music Awards moved its schedule to June last year. With the 35th ceremony set for June 20, it aims to provide a festive venue when K-POP trends are at their most dynamic.
At last year’s ceremony, (G)I-DLE claimed the Grand Prize, asserting themselves as “K-POP Queens.” This year, with many artists of global influence expected to appear, there is already significant anticipation from fans worldwide about who will take the Grand Prize.
The Seoul Music Awards organizing committee stated, “The 35th Seoul Music Awards will be a meaningful event where all who love K-POP can share in the joy of the awards live. We will present an exceptional experience with a high-quality stage befitting the awards’ prestige.”
Meanwhile, official channels will sequentially release more details, including ticket booking schedules, live broadcast channels, lineup, and award categories.
