Taemin Reportedly Requested Contract Termination from Cha Ga-won, Ending 1 Year and 10 Months with Big Planet Made

Singer Taemin has ended his exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment amid recent allegations of unpaid earnings. Reports suggest that Taemin requested the termination, rather than the contract expiring naturally.

On the 24th, The Fact reported that Taemin’s contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment still had time remaining, but he strongly demanded termination from CEO Cha Ga-won, thus concluding their 1-year, 10-month collaboration.

There are also claims that CEO Cha Ga-won not only failed to properly settle accounts but also made significant errors during negotiations with external companies without Taemin’s consent.

After ending his contract with his former agency, SM Entertainment, in March 2024, Taemin signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment. Big Planet Made Entertainment is a subsidiary of Onehundred, established by CEO Cha Ga-won and MC Mong in December 2023. Its roster includes artists such as Lee Seung-gi, Lee Su-geun, Lee Mujin, Ha Sung-woon, NU’EST’s Ren, and GFRIEND members Eunha, SinB, and Umji.

Today, Big Planet Made released an official statement announcing, “We inform you that our exclusive contract with artist Taemin has been terminated. We ask for your continued support and interest in the artist’s activities even after the contract’s end.”

Taemin debuted with the group SHINee in 2008. After joining Big Planet Made, he released his 5th mini album ‘ETERNAL’ and special single ‘Veil.’
