Group TWS added another trophy at a major year-end awards ceremony, demonstrating their global popularity.
TWS (comprising Shinyu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin) received the ‘Best Musician’ group award at the ’10th Asia Artist Awards 2025 (10th AAA 2025)’ held at the Kaohsiung National Stadium on December 6. This marks their second consecutive year winning at this ceremony, having bagged the ‘Rookie Award’ and ‘Best Artist’ last year.
TWS expressed, “We are honored to receive such a meaningful award on the 10th anniversary of the ‘AAA’. We are grateful to our fans, 42, for their unwavering support. We aspire to continue being artists that 42 can be proud of.”
That day, TWS showcased their explosive energy as the ‘next-gen performance powerhouses’ in a thrilling act that closed the first segment. Jihoon opened with an artistic solo dance, depicting a disoriented wander in a dream, followed by TWS’s dynamic performance with multiple dancers that captivated the audience.
In the lively melody of ‘OVERDRIVE’, TWS portrayed the story of waking from a dream and returning to an invigorated reality. They made full use of an open 360-degree stage, extended stage, and LED lifts, delivering a thrilling performance that captivated everyone watching. The stadium audience created a rainbow wave, swinging cheering bands to the lyrics “Heart pounding!”
During the interview, the ‘Anttang Challenge’, which set this year ablaze, became a hot topic again. Utilizing the choreography from ‘OVERDRIVE’, this challenge prominently featured cute teasing motions to the “Umm” lyrics. Top stars from the artist section followed the demonstrations by Dohun and Kyungmin, leading to enthusiastic cheers and laughter from the audience. Right after broadcast, ‘TWS Stage’, ‘Hesholnito’, ‘Anttang Challenge’, and ‘Overdrive’ trended globally on X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, TWS has achieved remarkable results on the global music charts this year. Billboard Japan’s annual chart for 2025, released on December 5 (covering November 25, 2024 – November 23, 2025), placed their mini-albums ‘play hard’ and ‘TRY WITH US’ at 38th and 57th on the ‘Top Albums Sales’ chart, respectively. On ‘Top Singles Sales’, their debut Japanese single ‘Nice to see you again’ (Japanese title 初めまして/Hello) ranked 49th, and their first single album ‘Last Bell’ was 75th. With such popularity, TWS ranked 46th in Spotify’s ‘Top Groups of 2025 Japan’.
