Wanna One has shared a message with fans ahead of their reunion, including words from Kang Daniel and Lai Kuan-lin, who will not be participating.
On the first of the month, an image containing messages from all 11 Wanna One members was uploaded to their official account.
The members shared personal greetings such as, “We came late to keep our promise,” “This is just the beginning,” and “Saving Wannable in my heart again.”
Kang Daniel, who is set to enlist in the army on February 9, wrote, “I’m glad to bring good news after a long time. I’m excited to call out the name Wannable after so long. Let’s take out our memories and return to those times.”
Lai Kuan-lin, who announced his retirement from the entertainment industry to become a film director, also left a message for fans, stating: “Wannable, you remember me, right? Thank you so much for supporting us back in the day. I’m doing well now. Please love our brothers a lot. Wannable, be happy. I will also be happy,” touching the fans’ hearts.
Wanna One was formed through Mnet’s ‘Produce 101 Season 2,’ which aired in 2017. They debuted in August the same year and were loved for hits like ‘Energetic,’ ‘Boomerang,’ and ‘Beautiful’ during their 18-month run.
After disbanding, the members continued individual album and broadcast activities. Recently, news of Wanna One’s reunion after seven years was announced. They are set to appear in an Mnet reality program during the first half of the year.
However, Kang Daniel, set to enlist in February, and Lai Kuan-lin, currently in China, will not participate. Member Park Ji-hoon mentioned in an interview for his film ‘Live with the King’ that “Kang Daniel is soon enlisting, and Lai Kuan-lin is in China, so they couldn’t join.”
He added, “Although some shoots remain, we had pre-meetings and captured moments of us eating together. Everyone agreed readily and we filmed it happily. It was touching to come together looking in the same direction,” raising fans’ expectations.
Wanna One members Ong Seong-wu, Lee Dae-hwi, Ha Sung-woon, Yoon Ji-sung, Park Woo-jin, and Hwang Min-hyun attended the VIP premiere of the movie ‘Live with the King’ on the 27th of last month at the Lotte Cinema World Tower in Sincheon-dong, Seoul, to support Park Ji-hoon, garnering attention.
