YG Entertainment Confirms BIGBANG Concert for 20th Debut Anniversary; Yang Hyun-suk Reaches Agreement with Members

YG Entertainment (YG) has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for 2026.

On the 4th, YG Entertainment published ‘2026 YG PLAN | YG ANNOUNCEMENT’ on its official blog. This marks Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk’s first interview in six months, where he personally detailed the company’s significant plans for the year.

Earlier, BIGBANG members G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung had hinted at resuming activities this year to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary, generating significant interest from global music fans. Yang Hyun-suk confirmed reaching an agreement with the BIGBANG members to hold a concert.

The event will commemorate BIGBANG’s 20-year musical journey and reunite YG and BIGBANG, who have collectively shaped the K-pop industry over the years, reaffirming their strong ‘YG family’ bond. Yang Hyun-suk stated, “As we have been working together for a long time, there should be no difficulties,” and added, “All YG staff will do our utmost to create a perfect and excellent concert.”

Baby Monster and Treasure are also slated for active promotions. Baby Monster plans to release a mini album in May, followed by a second full album this fall. Yang Hyun-suk introduced the mini album’s title track as ‘Choome,’ noting, “The font used for the Korean word ‘dance’ is very stylish. It conveys an Oriental impression, as if a person is dancing with outstretched arms.” Additionally, starting in June, the group plans to embark on a larger-scale second world tour across Latin America, Europe, and Oceania.

Treasure will launch the second chapter of their activities with the release of a mini album in June. Yang Hyun-suk revealed, “The members suddenly approached me with a desire to do hip-hop, which surprised me. With this in mind, you will be amazed to see Treasure showcasing this new style of music. It’s an exciting and distinctly YG sound they’ve never presented before.”

Finally, Chief Producer Yang Hyun-suk stated, “As YG celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, rather than conveying special sentiments, I want to express our commitment to diligently producing music while retaining our original intentions for the 40th and 50th anniversaries. Since last year, we have been dedicating our best efforts to actively promoting Baby Monster and Treasure. We will meticulously refine these results to deliver joyful news to you throughout the year.”

Meanwhile, the outlines of new YG groups, previously hinted at last year, have become clearer. Subtitles announced, “A new boy group is being prepared for fall,” and “Following E-Valley and Chanya, we will soon reveal the remaining two members of the four-member girl group Next Monster (tentative name).”
