Controversial photo raises dating rumors between Rosé and Kang Dong-won

A photo that sparked drug allegations against BLACKPINK’s Rosé has now given rise to dating rumors between her and 16-year-older Kang Dong-won.

Recently, rumors about a romantic relationship between Rosé and Kang Dong-won surfaced online. On April 17, their agency YG Entertainment stated, “It is difficult to confirm as it is a personal matter of the artists.”

Recently, former Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci posted a photo of a home party on his channel. The photo caught attention for featuring Kang Dong-won and Rosé sitting side by side.

Initially, the photo raised drug allegations against Rosé. Chinese media raised suspicions of drug use after seeing the photo.

However, as there was no evidence of drug use in the photo, fans tried to explain and defend Rosé.

In response to the rumors, the agency said, “The rumors about BLACKPINK’s Rosé spreading in certain online communities and SNS are obviously false, and we will take legal action.”

After the drug allegations against Rosé subsided, dating rumors with Kang Dong-won emerged. Netizens found evidence that the two wore matching couple items, adding fuel to the dating rumors.

Amidst all this, some fans believe that YG Entertainment’s ambiguous response to the dating rumors means that the rumors are true. The agency did not deny the rumors but instead stated that it is difficult to confirm, which can be seen as a positive sign.

In particular, Kang Dong-won was born in 1981, and Rosé was born in 1997, causing a stir among fans due to the 16-year age gap between them.

Meanwhile, Kang Dong-won’s exclusive contract with YG Entertainment expired in December of last year. While Rosé’s group BLACKPINK is in the middle of their world tour “BORN PINK,” which has attracted approximately 1.5 million audiences, they also performed as headliners at the ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’ in the US on April 16 (local time).
