The 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America is now just 100 days away.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19 local time. This marks the first time three countries will co-host the event, following the 2002 FIFA World Cup, which was the first co-hosted by two nations (South Korea and Japan).
The number of participating nations in the tournament will expand from 32 to 48, introducing a Round of 32 knockout stage. Following the group stage, where teams compete in groups of four, the top two teams from each group and the eight best third-place teams will advance to the Round of 32.
South Korea has been placed in Group A alongside host Mexico, South Africa, and the winner of European Playoff D (comprising Denmark, Czech Republic, Ireland, and North Macedonia). The South Korean team will play its first match against the European Playoff D winner on June 12 at 11 a.m. KST, followed by matches against Mexico on June 19 at 10 a.m. KST and South Africa on June 25 at 10 a.m. KST. All of South Korea’s group stage matches will be held in Mexico.
