The film ‘The Running Man’ has revealed its key anticipation points ahead of its release.
‘The Running Man’ is a thrilling action blockbuster following the story of Ben Richards (played by Glen Powell), a laid-off father who participates in a global survival program for 30 days, surviving brutal pursuers to win a large cash prize.
The first highlight is Glen Powell’s explosive action performance.
Performing most of his action sequences himself, Glen Powell has attracted attention by reportedly receiving action tips directly from Tom Cruise over a two-hour call, continuing their connection from ‘Top Gun: Maverick.’
Glen Powell added vibrancy to the film with his dedicated stunt performances, taking to heart Tom Cruise’s advice: “Stunts aren’t just acting; they involve real pain, and you have to physically train and respect stunts as an art.”

Director Bong Joon-ho praised the film’s action scenes, noting, “They feel more like sweat-inducing working-class action rather than mere stunt showcases. The anger-filled Ben Richards matches well with Glen Powell’s vibe,” further raising expectations for Powell’s realistic action appeal.
The second highlight is the world setting that transcends time.
In ‘The Running Man,’ deepfakes are rampant, distributing manipulated videos to alter public perception, and the powerful corporation ‘Network’ surveils private lives through the distributed television ‘FreeVee.’
These elements reflect the original setting from Stephen King’s novel written over 40 years ago.
Director Edgar Wright has modernized these original insights to portray a dystopia where the polarization of society’s structure is evident.

With detailed production design, dynamic yet delicate cinematography, and an immersive soundtrack, ‘The Running Man’ connects with today’s reality, leaving a lasting impact on audiences.
The third highlight is the shining synergy among the strong, distinctive cast.
William H. Macy, known for his versatile performances in films like ‘Jurassic Park 3’ and ‘Magnolia,’ adds depth to the plot as Molly, who struggles between friendship and reality as Ben Richards’ ally.
Lee Pace, who displayed a strong presence in ‘The Fall: Odious and the Door of Fantasy’ and ‘The Hobbit’ series, portrays McCone, the leader of the hunters relentlessly pursuing Ben Richards, exuding a unique aura.
Recently voicing the ‘Cowardly Lion’ in ‘Wicked: For Good,’ actor Colman Domingo brings different charm as the star host Bobby T of ‘The Running Man’ program. Meanwhile, Josh Brolin, renowned for his intense villain role as Thanos in the ‘Avengers’ series, plays Dan Killian, the head of ‘The Running Man’ program, adding weighty presence.
‘The Running Man,’ with its diverse ensemble of seasoned actors, promises richer entertainment and tension.
‘The Running Man’ premieres on the 10th.
